“don’t like amy butler”

it always amazes me what search terms bring people to this site, and for the most part i actually feel bad for most of them. i’m not sure what type of purple backgrounds people are looking for, but i have a sinking suspicion that what they’re going to find here is what they were expecting to find.

as it is probably obvious if you scroll down the page i have started posting new stock again. i have to move by the end of july- i have no choice. i’m still not sure where i’m going to end up. the upside is that in both cases i will end up somewhere with much more space (a house as opposed to an apartment) the downside for one is that i won’t have a fast enough connection to upload photos that often, and the downside for the other is that i won’t have a lot of space for work.  with that in mind i’m trying to get as much stock done by then as i can.  i went through a phase where i was obsessively looking for a job. trust me, if you have employment, be very thankful to whatever deity you believe in or thank the universe for your good luck. the job market here is horrendous and while i don’t want to spend a lot of time here talking about that, sewing has started turning into my escape again because frankly life is really hard right now.

anywho, i’m going to festival at brushwood next week and at least part of my stock is going with me. i’m not sure what i’m going to do with it but all i know is that i want it gone. i don’t want to have to move it and some of the pieces i have i know translate better in real life than they do in pictures so i’m hoping that i can get rid of some.

my battle with the dill

in an attempt to keep myself from going insane i’ve been trying to find ways to keep myself occupied. i’m still unemployed (though not for lack of trying) and i have a LOT of free time on my hands.

i discovered that mid really likes green beans in any form, and one of my favorite pickles are dilly hot green beans. they’re not that hard to make either; i managed to get them to come out in a campus apartment with an old pickle jar.

i’ve been trying to grow my own dill for the recipe because for whatever reason buffalo has a dill embargo going on (i can’t find it anywhere).

i’m having problems getting the stupid things to sprout though. if i don’t see anything by wednesday next i’m going to start over again.
