i’ve been working on packing up my stock for sirius tomorrow and i’ve decided that i need to reword the way that i describe one of my cores. i’m not going to worry about it for this weekend but i want to rethink how i’m marketing scrap cores for my next set of stock.
what scrap cores amount to is that i set aside the pieces of cotton fabric that are too large to use for my bitterball quilt but aren’t large enough to cut tops out of. there’s nothing wrong with the pieces outside of the fact that some of them are oddly shaped or they may be slightly shorter than cores that i cut out from large pieces of fabric. i’ve been referring to them as scrap because that’s what they are, but i’m starting to realize that people don’t like that word, scrap. i’m not going to worry about it right now because there’s only two in my current stock.
the problem that i’m having is that i’m having problems coming up with a way of describing them make them sound appealing (as in it’s not crap fabric) but still truthful. i’m thinking of describing them as stacked on the tags and having an info sheet that describes what they are and why they’re different from normal cores, but i’m still working on how to describe what they’re made of. i may just word it like i’ve said here though, that they’re smaller pieces of flannel and cotton that aren’t long enough to be a regular core.
