check it out- cups and waste

this post approaches a subject that i’m sensitive towards, and one that has come up frequently since i got into menstruation activism.

what about the impact of reusables on water and water usage?

the issue with reusables is that they require water or other cleaning methods that in many parts of the world may or may not be available. however, as this particular entry also points out, the alternatives that may have a much smaller obvious impact are often extremely expensive and create waste.

the waste issue is treated in the highlighted entry purely as an issue with direct impact, as in, what happens to the product when we are done with it. most people, for perhaps obvious reasons, don’t want to think about where their stuff goes when we flush it or toss it. the problem is, in many parts of the world, it ends up in someway impacting the water supply. it either ends up in a body of water directly, or ends up leeching into other bodies of water along with other trash.

new stock, and a mildly annoying day

to get the annoyance out of my system, i’m going to deal with that first. today was supposed to be a relatively laid back day where i could go through my fabric stash and work on getting more stock ready since i managed to not come back with any stock from sirius. it didn’t end up where i first intended it to go, but it’s not here and that was the end goal. but today has turned into a lot of run around and wait.

my more relevant annoyance is the fact that cloth seems to end up as a WTF, all…the…time. it’s not for everyone, but when push comes to shove, it’s always struck me as an odd position to take considering the fact that the other options are just as…WTF. but personal opinions are personal opinions and people are always going to dissent about something. i just somehow managed to get linked from some WTF blog (not my product, but a similar product) and to be honest i can’t even find the link from that blog.

but before this backslides completely into a rant, i do have new stock to post!

but it’s currently drying. so there will be new stock tomorrow.

the stock includes a winged piece, 2 bricks, and 2 coffee cuffs. i believe that i have enough cuffs in stock that they will also be getting their own stock page tomorrow as well.  the winged piece and at least one of the bricks will also be marked down $.20 because the ink lines did not fully wash out of the tops, but they are clean and the ink will fade.
