samhain sewing

i was working on a brick pad last week and thinking that the 11 inch pad is about the right size to make into a candlemat if i used a thinner core. i’ve also been looking at the autumnal fabrics that are being put out this year and i’m falling in love with them.

samhain (halloween) is my favorite holiday on the wheel, especially for religious reasons that i may get into at a later date. i have a lot of samhain-ish knick knacks but nothing really to tie into my alter, especially since my alter often ends up scattered around my living areas. i’ve been lucky enough to not get into a situation where i have to go completely underground with my beliefs but there have been times when it’s been stressed to me that the more subtle the better. my alters (except for my private personal alter) often don’t really look like such anyway.

i’m thinking that once i start working i’m going to get some of the autumn fabrics that are out and make myself some candlemats. if they come out well i may list some.

** if you’ve been noticing some bizarre spikes in the number of posts it’s because i’ve been putting some stuff on delayed publishing and then forgetting about them.

moving!

i am in the middle of moving in with Mid. my lease is up on friday.

most of my apartment is packed.

the last things being moved are my computer, my tv and my sewing.

i’m not sure how often i will be updating but it’ll be as often as possible.

introducing a new pad!

i currently have no way of uploading photos, so pictures will have to wait until the next stock update. however, i have just finished the prototype for a new pad style- a winged fluffy style pad!

the winged fluffy pad is shaped the same way as a normal unwinged fluffy pad- wider across the top and bottom than along the stem. i have added a winged option for those people that have suggested that while they like the shape and coverage of the fluffy pad, they wished that there were wings on the pad. both styles will be in stock from now on.
