check it out- pagan info for August

holidays and history for august

i was toying with the idea of doing this for next month anyway, but like normal for my plans for entries i found one that was much more thought through than anything i could write.

even if you’re not pagan, it’s an interesting read if you like trivia. you never know what may pop up on 1 vs 100.

Land’s End FeelGood Campaign

This post describes a charity project that I haven’t heard of before, but it sounds really cool. They’re looking for a limited number of individuals to knit blankets for a drive to help homeless families.

I’ve sort of reached my charity blanket quota for oh the next decade or so* but I’m always excited to see new charity projects. It sounds like a cool set up, so check it out if you’re looking for new charity ideas.

*My Girl Scout Gold Award through GSUSA was to handmake and collect handmade lap robes and blankets for the community. It was supposed to encompass 50 hours and 12 blankets. I donated over 450 blankets, including at least 3 dozen that I made, and it’s still ongoing. I got the award in 2003. I strongly support blanket donation, but forgive me if i’m looking for a new item to donate!
